With the vibrant growth of the GBA’s economy, the logistics industry has become a crucial element in supporting and driving regional economic expansion. Playing a significant role in developing the GBA, the logistics sector provides efficient and seamless supply chains and transportation services to various industries.
To further advance the logistics industry, the coastal areas along the Pearl River have been designated as logistics hubs, leading to the establishment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Logistics Park. This initiative aims to support the development of cross-border logistics and facilitate the “westward and outward” channel for the GBA. This measure aims to enhance logistics efficiency, shorten the distance between production origins and international cities, lower costs, and promote the development of intra-regional and international trade. Establishing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Logistics Park will provide modern warehousing, transportation, and distribution facilities to meet the growing logistics demand.

According to the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” released by the central government, the coordinated development and establishment of the Hengqin area with the Zhuhai Free Trade Zone and the Hongwan district, as well as the establishment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Logistics Park, have been highlighted.
These measures will bring tremendous opportunities and development space for logistics in the Greater Bay Area. Establishing logistics parks will improve logistics efficiency, reduce costs and promote the development of cross-border trade. At the same time, the coordinated development of logistics parks will further strengthen internal collaboration and cooperation within the Greater Bay Area, forming a more comprehensive logistics network and supply chain system. The logistics park will be developed into a global supply chain service center that integrates logistics control, finance, information consulting, and professional services.
The rise of the Greater Bay Area presents significant opportunities and impacts to the logistics industry. The logistics sector supports regional economic growth and smooth international trade. With the establishment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Logistics Park and coordinated development of Hengqin, Zhuhai Free Trade Zone, and Hongwan area, the logistics parks will offer modern warehousing, transportation, and distribution facilities, further enhancing logistics efficiency and service standards.
